Redoing a Bench Redo – Spring Bench

About a year ago, I redid a plain pine bench. It’s great quality – made in Vermont – and extremely sturdy. I painted the top in a dusty blue plaster of paris chalked paint and sketched out a flying swallow silhouette, which I painted on. It was springtime and I was sure it would fly out of the shop. Bench gets Sacked!

If you follow furniture renovations at all, grainsack painting (mimicking the look of a grainsack on a painted furniture item) is all the rage. (I just wanted to say “all the rage”.)
